MEET ANASTASIA

Anastasia is a dedicated volunteer and philanthropist. In 2014, while volunteering at a local school in Hamilton, she met a young girl whose parents were struggling to provide the basic needs for their children. Poorly dressed and lacking warm clothing for the harsh winter weather Anastasia wanted to help this girl and her family. She began a clothing drive at her church where she successfully raised clothing for this young girl and her siblings. The impact on these children was huge as Anastasia witnessed first-hand the positive change in their personalities and academic performance. This inspired Anastasia to help more children living in the same situation. Pass It On was established in 2014 to help children and teens living in disadvantaged situations by providing them with suitable clothing for school and daily life. To date Anastasia has collected over 7,000 articles of clothing. The generosity from local and corporate donors has allowed her to expand her reach to provide clothing to students living in the Hamilton Wentworth, Halton regions and the Whitefish River First Nations reserve.

Although it may seem superficial, the clothing we wear can affect our self-esteem. Worn, mismatched or poorly fitted clothing can have a negative impact on a child’s ability to develop socially and achieve academic success.

The mission of Pass It On is to help lessen the impact of childhood poverty by providing gently used clothing to children and teens living below the poverty line.

By outfitting young people with appropriate attire our goal is to bring a smile to the faces of these deserving children and send them out into the world with confidence. It is amazing to see how something so small can make such a big difference!
